The Edge Wall/Ceiling Lamp has been created by Alessandro Mendini for the brand Artemide. It pushes the boundaries of design with its cube shape. Its design and placement on the wall or ceiling are unexampled.

The Edge Wall/Ceiling Lamp is essentially a thermoplastic cube with a diffuser inside it that casts light all around. Its intrigue is enhanced by the way it is positioned which is at an angle. This creates the illusion that it is hanging loosely on the wall or ceiling. This has been done for a deliberate aesthetic effect. It is, in fact, very securely attached with a support made of thermoplastic resin and mounted using a ring nut. The light source has been placed on one edge of the cube from where it casts soft, white light all around. A particular rotation manufacturing technique guarantees uniform, balanced light efficiency.

The Edge Wall/Ceiling Lamp is available in two sizes. The smaller one has a length of 35cm, a width of 32cm and a height of 32cm while the larger one has a length of 48.5cm, a width of 43cm and a height of 43cm. It works with an E27 socket.
