The 412 Cab Mario Bellini Chair has been created by Mario Bellini for the brand Cassina. It is considered special as it was the world's first chair with a free-standing leather frame. It is an apt representation of traditional craftsmanship and modernity.

The design of the 412 Cab Mario Bellini Chair is inspired by the way skin fits over a skeleton frame on people. Tubular stainless steel has been used for the inner shell. Its square-shaped backrest is a standard height and its seat is generously sized. The backrest is padded with flexible cold moulded polyurethane foam that provides a firm, comfortable seating space. It is upholstered with sixteen pieces of saddle leather that are attached by hand. The leather undergoes a long tanning process that is also done by hand. A zip that goes over the whole chair holds the layers together over the frame.
