Design competence since 1927: The Label Cassina was founded by Cesare and Umberto Cassina in Milan over 80 years ago. Since then Cassina has been producing furniture inspired by industrial design with excellent quality, including chairs, tables, armchairs, sofas, beds, closets, and shelves. Around the time of its foundation Cassina was pioneering, animating designers and architects to be bold and take new paths concerning shapes and materials, and realising their vision. A crucial step forward: Cassina achieved the switch from manual processing to serial production.

Bringing together designers and architects with completely different life careers, interests, visions, and skills resulted in the creation of unique and memorable furniture. An exciting mix of different ideas – this is fundamentally characteristic for the furniture by Cassina.

In 1964 Cassina brought one of the most exceptional collections onto the market: Le Corbusier, inspired by the Bauhaus style, became a must-have for design lovers – and has not lost any of its fascination even today. Modern and elegant, the LC lounger, the LC sofa, the LC armchair, and the LC tables / side tables perfectly fit into every home, but also into offices and lounge areas. In the meantime the Le Corbusier collection is also available as outdoor version for your garden and terrace.

Another bestseller by Cassina, which is without exaggeration one of the milestones in the history of Italian design, is the CAB chair, designed by Mario Bellini in 1977. The CAB chair is also available as CAB armchair and convinces with its linear, yet thanks to its special material combination very exciting look and feel. The supporting structure of the CAB armchair is made of lacquered steel. The frame of the chair by Cassina is covered with core leather, which is closed off with zippers.

Besides Le Corbusier and Bellini numerous other designers contributed to Cassina's story of success, like Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Jeannert, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Frank Lloyd Wright, Gerrit Thomas Rietveld, Franco Albini, and Erik Gunnar Asplund, just to name a few.

Of course, the innovations and bold designs by Cassina were repeatedly awarded. The first "Compasso d'Oro" Cassina won in 1954 for their 683 chair, designed by Carlo de Carli. And many more awards were to follow.
