Neu 13 Chair Water-Based Lacquered Oak Base

The Neu 13 Chair Water-Based Lacquered Oak Base has been created by the in-house studio for the brand HAY. Designed to offer a new spin on traditional desk and dining room chairs, Neu is a collection of refined furnishings which combine plastic and wood in eye-catching ways, delighting the eye and offering maximum comfort.

In this case, the Neu 13 Chair Water-Based Lacquered Oak Base has a four-legged base made from oak that has been finished using a water-based lacquer. Above that base, the designers have added a delicately sculpted polypropylene shell which curves upwards slightly around the edges, encapsulating the sitter and making the chair more comfortable to use. Die cast aluminium fastenings between the base and the shell complete the design, discreetly stabilising the chair and allowing the wood and plastic to combine beautifully.

The Neu 13 Chair Water-Based Lacquered Oak Base measures 82cm high, 46cm wide and 52.5cm deep. The seat height has been positioned 46cm above the ground, which should suit most dining tables and work desks perfectly. Understated and refined, the chair will serve as a practical addition to studies and offices, while adding a visual accent that will make rooms more enjoyable to use.
