The Mami Small Bowl Set Stainless Steel was created by Stefano Giovannoni for the Alessi design company. Beautifully composed, with confident curves and a minimalist aesthetic, these bowls will add class to anyone's dinner table.
Stefano Giovannoni was one of the prime movers behind the famous King Kong design group, which came together in 1980s Italy and helped to galvanise the country's product design scene. During the 90s, he also began a fruitful relationship with Alessi, one of the world's most prestigious industrial manufacturers of designer utensils. This resulted in a series of collections, with Mami being one of the most popular.
With Mami, Giovannoni took inspiration from the ancient world, using the form of Roman terracotta pottery to inform his designs. His aim was to create items that would reflect the Italian love for traditional cookery, and to allow chefs to reach their potential at the same time.
As the Mami Small Bowl Set Stainless Steel demonstrates, this retro approach pays off. Each bowl is made from brilliant stainless steel and measures 5.5 x 8.5 cm. They are available in sets of three and will work beautifully with Mami cooking pots and pans.
