The Tonale Salad Bowl was designed by designer Sir David Chipperfield for the Italian label Alessi.
Sir Chipperfield is a British architect. His tableware collection uses colours inspired by Giorgio Morandian, an Italian artist, and the shapes he uses are inspired by Korean stoneware designs from ancient times. As its name suggests, the Tonale Salad Bowl uses plain and muted tones that are beautiful in their simplicity, and the colours will fit in with any interior decor and give a warmth to any home.
Chipperfield focuses on using subtle contrasts in his designs, and the two-tone effect on this salad bowl is no exception. Made from durable earthenware, the rounded design and grey-cream colouring come across as decidedly organic, which is a great look for the modern kitchen. As a bowl, this lovely item could have many uses, and not just be used for salads. With a diamater of 23cm and a 0.3 litere capacity, you could also eat pasta or even soup from it.
The lovely Tonale Salad Bowl will enhance your kitchenware collection and, by owning it, you'll have an item produced by a designer who has won many awards and who also received a knighthood in 2010.
