The TAC The Andersen Chairwas designed by byKATO for the brand Andersen Furniture.
byKATO is a Danish studio that perpetuates a long tradition of crafting quirky and practical wooden furnishings. Founded by Karl Rossell and Tonny Glismand, it seeks to mix original concepts with authentic, timeless principles. Commissioned by fellow Danes Andersen Furniture, the TAC The Andersen Chair fits that definition perfectly. Inspired by 1960s culture, yet totally up to date, it is a true modern classic.
The TAC The Andersen Chairhas a four legged design, and measures 45 x 79 x 52 cm, with a seat height of 46cm. But this is a far from conventional design. The shell has been made from matt finished plastic, and possesses graceful curves. The slanted oak legs taper subtly to their ends, accentuating the curves of the shell. byKATO has also added brass rings around the junction between the shell and the legs. This ensures that each Andersen Chair is extra-stable, while emphasising the contrast between plastic and natural wood in a wholly convincing fashion. Winner of the 2013 Red Dot Design Award, this exceptional chair mixes comfort, colour, and sheer style in an effortless blend.
