Aava 3910 Chair

The Aava 3910 Chair was created by Antti Kotilainen for the Italian label Arper.

Arper produces innovative furniture and home accessories that are designed to work hard and be durable while carrying a natural lightness of line. Antti Kotilainen founded his Helsinki design studio in 1997 and works on everything from furniture to spatial design projects. Much of his work reflects the Scandinavian tradition of woodworking. Among his prizes is the Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.

The Aava 3910 Chair is a functional piece distinguished by flowing curves and light colours. The plywood used for the chair's body and legs is given a veneer finish with an attractive natural grain appearance. The rounded seat and backrest is moulded from one piece, making it pleasing to look at and comfortable to use. It's the ideal complement to both Scandinavian interiors and other chair designs in the Aava line. Useful features of the Aava 3910 Chair are stacking protection pads and an innovative linking system making it versatile both for public use and for storage.
