E60 Stool Lacquered Base

The E60 Stool Lacquered Base has been created by Alvar Aalto for the brand Artek. Designed in 1934, to this stay it still remains in style. Clean, uncluttered lines give it a classic look that doesn't grow old.

The E60 Stool Lacquered Base is made of birch wood sourced from Finland. It has a sturdy, round seat. The base is set on a frame which is one of the details that gives the stool a classic look. The seat appears to levitate due to the way it is positioned on the legs that curve at the top. The bar-shaped, sturdy legs are attached to the underside of the seat at the point where they are curved. Apart from the aesthetic detail, this eliminates the need for joints and fasteners which works to enhance the stool's minimalistic style.
