Stablight "B" Pendant Lamp

The Stablight "B" Pendant Lamp has been created by Arik Levy for the brand Artemide. Its design uses layers of glass that have different colours to put it in a class of its own. It is the designer's artistic take on the classic unshaded suspension lamp.

The Stablight "B" Pendant Lamp is almost entirely handcrafted. The glass used for the shade is mouth-blown using a pipe. Glass that has different colours is shaped using wooden moulds. This is also done by hand. When they take on the required shape, the layers of glass are attached together. Finishing is done with polishing that produces a high gloss. The process is undertaken by master craftsmen. The final shape has a cylinder-shaped stem that flares out into a round opening. It houses a similarly shaped diffused. It is dark-coloured, which contrasts with the glass and adds an aesthetic detail.

The Stablight "B" Pendant Lamp has a height of 27cm and a diameter of 10cm. It has a suspension height of 227cm. It is not dimmable. It comes in a variety of colours. The lamp uses a GU10 socket and a bulb has to be purchased separately. One bulb will look good but a pair, row or cluster will have even more visual impact.
