The Tolomeo Lettura Reading Lamp has been created by Giancarlo Fassina and Michele de Lucchi for the brand Artemide. From its base in Milan, the Italian brand specialises in manufacturing innovative lighting fixtures and accessories designed by architects and industrial designers. One such lamp is the Tolomeo Lettura Reading Lamp. Its intricate design, made using aluminum rods, brings fishing rods to mind. The lamp has a disc-shaped base that supports a stem. At the top, the stem bends into an arm that holds a round diffuser. Wires along the lengths of the stem and the rod add aesthetic value and are part of the support that attaches the diffuser to the arm and the arm to the stem. They also enable movement so the height of the lamp can be altered by adjusting the stem and arm. The aluminum diffuser can be pivoted, thereby providing further flexibility in terms of directing light precisely where it is needed.
