The Umanoff Side Table has been created by Arthur Umanoff for the brand Audo. Umanoff, who lived from 1923 to 1985, was a key participant in America's mid-century design movement, using new production techniques to craft beautiful furniture that was accessible for the masses.
The Umanoff Side Table was designed in the 1950s and it offers a striking example of that era's passion for minimalism, grace, and innovation. Despite its age, this classic design retains its ability to impress, both through its practical features, its unexpected angles, and its lightweight presence. And, thanks to Danish brand Audo, today's furniture lovers can discover what made it so iconic.
The first thing that strikes the eye concerning the Umanoff Side Table are the legs, which feature a mix of walnut wood and brass to create a stable and slender tripod setup. Above the tripod, Umanoff added a circular walnut tabletop which measures either 45cm high by 43cm wide or 60cm high by 43cm wide, depending on which size users prefer. As a final touch, he also added a brass rail around half of the table, providing a barrier to keep items in place and completing a beautiful contrast between metal and wood.
