The Theban Lounger was designed by Ferdinand Kramer for the brand e15.

German architect and functionalist furniture designer Kramer passed away in 1985, leaving behind a rich legacy of architectural projects and furniture designs. Examples of designs he created specifically for Frankfurt University are on display there today. The Museum of Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt, Thonet Museum in Frankenberg and Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein also display his work.

Kramer's designs are also available for sale as part of the Ferdinand Kramer Collection, which has been organised by his family in collaboration with the brand e15. The iconic Theban Loungeris part of this collection. It exemplifies simplicity and luxury and fits in as well as it did when it was designed in 1925. It derives its name from a place in Egypt. Looking at it, you can imagine yourself lounging on it after spending the day exploring pyramids and other Egyptian historic treasures. The Theban Lounger has a top made of flexible textile that is built into a wooden frame and could even be used as a coffee table. It is available in three sizes: 1800 x 800 x 350 mm, 1800 x 600 x 350mm and 2,000 x 900 x 350 mm.
