Product description

The Smithfield S Suspension Lamp has been created by Jasper Morrison for the brand Flos. Its name and design are inspired by London's Smithfield Market. It is here that the designer saw industrial lamps that were as functional as they were aesthetically pleasing. He sought to recreate a lamp with the same qualities and he certainly succeeded.

The Smithfield S Suspension Lamp has a dome-shaped shade made of aluminium. It is finished with glossy varnish on the exterior while the inside is white giving the light cast a warm glow. It does this through a diffuser made of injection-moulded opalescent methacrylate that softens the light. The lamp is suspended from the ceiling with a steel cable as well as a three-pole electric cable that has PTFE double insulation. The curved cable as opposed to a straight option adds an understated aesthetic detail.

The Smithfield S Suspension Lamp has a height of 21.5cm and a diameter of 60cm. It is not dimmable. It comes in a selection of colours that include neutral and brightly coloured options. The lamp has an E27 socket. The light source is included in the delivery.
