Orbital Floor Lamp

The Orbital Floor Lamp has been created by Ferruccio Laviani for the brand Foscarini. Italian architect and industrial designer Laviani rose to prominence during the rise of the Memphis design movement that is all about bold, novel, colourful designs. It became his signature mark as can be seen in the Orbital Floor Lamp. The brightness and variety of colours certainly stands out. So do the five discs made of serigraph, industrial glass that each have their own shape and colour. The discs are attached to a lacquered metallic tubular frame. The stem is supported by a tripod of laser-cut metal sheet. When the lamp is turned on, the effect of differently-coloured lights is striking. Light is cast through painted glass diffusers that are fastened onto the frame with metal glass locks that have an epoxy powder coating.

The Orbital Floor Lamp has a height of 170cm and a diameter of 53cm. Its transparent cable is 250cm and has the on/off switch located on it. The appropriate bulb with the E14 bulb can be ordered under accessories. The lamp is not dimmable. It is also available with white transparent discs. Both these and the coloured one are available as replacement shades.
