01 Armrest Chair

The 01 Armrest Chair has been created by Frama for the brand Frama. It has clean, uncluttered, straight lines that give it a utilitarian aesthetic. It is one where a piece is pared down to basics and embellishments are not added unless they enhance functionality. This range was inspired by seating commonly found in Nordic churches since the start of the 20th century.

The 01 Armrest Chair is made of birch wood. It has a wide, backrest that is made up of a short slab of wood that doesn't extend to the seat. Its straight lines are replicated on the seat which is also well-sized with a square shape. The chair's comfort is enhanced by armrests. They are set high, starting just below the backrest. The armrests are the upper part of U-shaped frames on either side of the seat. The part of the frame that forms the back legs is wedge-shaped. It is one of the few decorative touches on the otherwise austere chair.

The 01 Armrest Chair has a width of 53.2cm, a height of 80.9cm and a depth of 43.8cm. Its seat height is 46cm and its backrest height is 80.9cm. The wood it is made of is finished with oiling. Over time, it will gain a patina. This chair can be used around a dining or kitchen table or behind a work desk. The chairs are stackable for easy storage when not in use.
