The Aldus Table was designed by Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm for the brand Skagerak.
Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm is an internationally recognised designer and a winner of the Red Dot, Design + and German Design awards, and her collaboration with Skagerak, a Danish company that focusses on the craftsmanship and quality of their products, brought them the Elle magazine Bedroom Furniture of the Year award in 2016. Halstrøm takes a classic Scandinavian design background and marries it to a fascination with traditional Japanese design, with a focus on minimalism, natural materials and form following function.
These preoccupations can clearly be seen in the ravishing simplicity of the Aldus Table. Its classic, clean lines give it a timeless quality which would work as a part of any design scheme, be it modern or more traditional. This six-legged table is robustly constructed from solid oiled oak, with the top and its smoothly rounded corners being oiled oak veneer. All materials are FSC certified, and the natural beauty of wood means this table would bring a grace note to any space, but its length of 200cm, height of 73cm and width of 100cm means it can seat six to eight people, making it an ideal dining table.
