The Lilium Outdoor Bench was designed by BIG Bjarke Ingels Group for the brand Skagerak.
Skagerak excels in producing eye-catching, contemporary furniture. In its own words, it uses "honest materials", particularly wood and steel, ensuring that its pieces fit organically into almost any environment. Its collaboration with the US-Danish design and architecture cooperative, BIG Bjarke Ingels Group, is a very natural one, given the group's own emphasis on producing striking and practical pieces and its stellar track record of awards. Notable recent successes include the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter design award.
Measuring 135.5cm in length and 39.5cm in width, the Lilium Outdoor Bench is a generously-sized seating option for gardens and patios. What's more, with a seat height of 45cm, it is comfortable for adults to use. Beautifully-made from teak and stainless steel, the bench is elegant and unfussy, as well as exceptionally easy to wipe down and keep clean. It is a natural partner for other pieces in the Lilium range, including garden tables and chairs. However, it looks equally at home as a stand-alone seating option, perhaps in a sunny spot in a courtyard garden or beneath a shady tree.
