Stefan Diez's journey to a career in art and design began at a very early age. He was born to a cabinet-maker, and he watched his father create furniture and acquired hands-on skills before joining the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Stuttgart. His major creations for the label Hay are the new order shelf and the new order table series, which have thrust him onto the global scene, earning him several awards and acclaims. Most notable of the prizes Stefan has bagged include the prestigious Red Dot Award and the iF Gold Award.
