In tribute to his Scandinavian heritage, which he seeks to incorporate in all his designs, Welling kept the lines clean and simple. The backrest and armrests are all of one piece fashioned from polypropylene. The backrest is wide, which provides for added seating room, and its edges extend forwards to form integrated armrests. The graceful curves and single, unified shell give the chair a sleek appearance. Below the shell is a base made of solid oak. Rather than straight, the legs are slanted outwards, which broadens the base to make the chair more stable and comfortable. Gliders fitted to the legs protect the chair and the surface on which it stands.
