The Ruutu Bouroullec Vase 205x180mm has been designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec for the iittala company.
The Bouroullec brothers have been a design team since the 1990s, and much of their work involves stretching the limits of their materials to create beautiful and useful household items. In 2016 alone, the Bouroullec team won seven awards. Finnish company iittala, in existence since 1881, markets high-quality glass goods in accordance with the beauty and versatility of geometric design.
Made of mouth-blown glass, the Ruutu Bouroullec Vase 205x180 mm is a cuboid in shape and has rounded corners that give it a soft and touch-friendly look. It's semitransparent and will serve as an ornament, a plant container or a display case for other household ornaments, such as unusual stones and rocks. This incorporation of geometric shape into household design derives from a movement called Constructivism.
The Ruutu Bouroullec Vase 205x180mm captures and bends light in an extraordinary way. On its own, it makes a lovely ornament in any room. Group the vase with other smaller items from the Ruutu collection to add a witty and unusual geometric accent to the living area, bedroom or even the kitchen.
