The Bertoia Plastic Side Chair Frame Black was designed by the Italian-American designer, artist and sculptor Harry Bertoia for furniture brand Knoll International.

At age 15, Bertoia chose to leave Italy behind and move to America with his brother. Following an education in art and design, Bertoia moved towards metal work and jewellery. He collaborated with design brothers the Eames during the early 1940s before moving to Pennyslvania in 1950. During the 1950s, he designed some of his most famous pieces, including the diamond chair as part of his Bertoia Collection for Knoll.

The Bertoia Plastic Side Chair Frame Black showcases the rule-breaking style that designer Harry Bertoia was famous for. From the inventive contrast of straight lines against the bold sweeping curves of the backrest, the chair shines with the air of exclusivity and style. With a robust frame built in aluminium and a durable polypropylene seat and backrest, the chair is designed to be durable and is easy to keep clean. The chair measures in at 77cm high, 52.3cm wide, 54.6cm deep and has a 45.6cm seat height. With a choice of neutral to bold colour options, you can opt for the shade that best complements your home or workspace.
