The Malmaison Aquamarine Carpet has been created by Christian Lacroix for the brand Moooi Carpets. Its design is inspired by the Incroyables and the Merveilleuses who wielded great influence in the aristocratic Paris culture. Their eccentricity is portrayed in a variety of differently sized and coloured flowers. The carpet is named Malmaison in reference to greenhouse carnations that are full, lush and often grow in pairs. These are laid against the background of a striped cross that also forms the frame and an aqua-coloured backdrop.
The imagery on the Malmaison Aquamarine Carpet is displayed with lifelike brilliance because of the polyamide it is printed on. This manmade fabric is the most common type of nylon and the most durable so this carpet will last a long time. It is also used for making printed carpets because it displays images with high clarity. Printing is done digitally which makes it possible to select precise colour tones and shoot them exactly where they are needed in the fabric. This is done without the computerised inkjets coming into contact with the fabric which guarantees a clean, final result.
The Malmaison Aquamarine Carpet comes with a diameter of 250cm or 350cm. It can also be used as a piece of decorative wall art.
