The Moon Armchair was created by Tokujin Yoshioka for the Italian label Moroso.

The family run Moroso label has been specialising in contemporary seating and sofas since it was founded in 1952. It has always worked at the forefront of new technology and materials combining the worlds of industrial design, fashion and contemporary art. Japanese-born Yoshioka has had a successful design career that involves fashion, watchmaking and jewellery as well as furniture and home products. His work is displayed in the V&A London and MoMA New York.

The Moon Armchair is a perfect example of a shell seat that breathes new life into both interior and exterior settings. It is perfectly named with its round, understated shape reminiscent of a crescent moon. The gently flowing curves of the seat shell grow seamlessly out of the cylindrical shape of the base. It is crafted from tough 100% recyclable polyethene, giving it a durable and easy-clean finish. The Moon Armchair is available in a range of different shades and with its measurements of 62 x 74 x 62 cm and seat height of 42cm it has a pleasing and comfortable symmetry.
