The Corky Carafe, full of character and fun, was created by Andreas Engesvik for the Muuto label.
Engesvik is one of Norway's leading designers. Based in his Oslo workshop, he creates out of the ordinary versions of everyday items, livening up old forms with radically new interpretations. A regular collaborator with labels like Asplund and Fogia as well as Muuto, he has regularly won Red Dot Design awards and Elle Decoration awards for his work, which combines total artistry with simplicity and formal elegance. As this Corky Carafe suggests, he also adds a touch of humour at the same time.
The carafe itself is a slender container measuring 22.1cm tall by 9.9cm wide. Its transparent vessel will be the perfect way to serve fine wines, whether you go for a rose, deep red or a white dessert wine. It's also just as handy for serving soft drinks on a summer afternoon. The oversized cork adds extra fun to serving drinks, while the slender form is perfectly shaped to hold comfortably in your hand. It's the kind of serving item that will enliven your dinner parties and start conversation wherever it's used.
