The Piton LED Lamp with Battery has been created by Tom Chung for the brand Muuto. The lamp's design was inspired by a desire to create a rechargeable, portable lamp that could be used anywhere. That was achieved and packaged into a lightweight, timeless lamp that is reminiscent of the old-school torch. It got its name Piton from the similarly named hook that is used for climbing.
The Piton LED Lamp with Battery is powered by LED that casts light through a diffuser that softens the light. The torch-shaped lamp is set on an aluminium, tube-shaped stem while the handle is alongside it. The handle is also metallic and it is U-shaped with a straight base that can hold the lamp up. The lamp can be placed lengthwise so it casts light straight across or on the base so it casts light upwards.
The Piton LED Lamp with Battery has a width of 32.1cm, a height of 21.8cm and a depth of 13.2cm. When the lamp is fully charged, it can keep going for six hours when set at full brightness or at least 13 hours at 50% brightness. The light can be dimmed via stepless dimming. The lamp can be used indoors and outdoors.
