Fyr Stool

The Fyr Stool has been created by Yuchen Wu for the brand Normann Copenhagen. It is a testament to the timeless beauty of Scandinavian woodcraft. Crafted from pine—a detail mirrored in its name 'Fyr,' which means Pine in English—this piece is a warm addition to any interior, encapsulating the cosy essence of Nordic design traditions.

The stool showcases a unique combination of strength and elegance, achieved through its meticulously balanced architecture. Its design, rooted in simple geometric forms, offers both visual interest and functional simplicity. Wu, originating from Taiwan, underwent numerous iterations to ensure the Fyr Stool adhered to her exacting criteria, aiming to fuse simplicity with functionality. Its structure, comprising four rectangular legs linked by circular rods at both top and bottom, contrasts beautifully with the circular seat, creating a striking visual harmony. Finished with a stain or left in its natural hue, each stool is sealed with a transparent lacquer to preserve its integrity and appeal.

Compact yet robust, the Fyr Stool serves multiple purposes beyond mere seating. With a height of 45cm, a width of 39.5cm and a seat diameter of 40cm, it seamlessly transitions from a stylish side table beside a sofa to a convenient nightstand adjacent to a bed, demonstrating unparalleled versatility.
