SoHo Dining Table

The SoHo Dining Table has been created by Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl for the brand NORR 11. It is a sculptured piece that is reminiscent of architecture. In particular, it brings to mind buildings from ancient cultures like Rome and Greece. They typically had tall, imposing fluted pillars at the front of buildings.

The SoHo Dining Table is made of travertine stone. Typically found around mineral springs, it works well for interior applications like kitchen and bathroom counters. It is also ideal for furniture because it is resistant to damage and heat. The dining table has a round tabletop. It is supported by a solid, thick pillar rather than the conventional four legs. Apart from the use of stone which is timeless, the architectural element is represented by the fluting on the base. It has felt finishing on the underside to protect the floor from damage.
