The Birdy Wall Lamp was created by Birger Dahl for the Northern lighting label. Elegant, beautifully constructed and superbly practical, it will be ideal for lighting studies, bedrooms, and corridors.
The Birdy Lamp isn't a new creation. In fact, Dahl designed it back in the 1950s. Working during the golden age of Scandinavian design, the Norwegian's work won him a Gold Medal at the Milan Triennale. In 2013, Northern decided to bring it back - resurrecting its timeless look for a new generation.
Made from steel, the Birdy Wall Lamp comes with a range of different finishes, creating an attractive contrast between the exterior and the diffuser's interior. Each lamp attaches firmly to interior walls and can placed in awkward locations with ease, thanks to the 200cm cable. It extends 53cm from the wall, while the unit has a height of 24cm and measures 12.5cm in width. Birdy lamps are also extremely light, weighing just 0.8kg, making them very easy to maintain or install. The economy of style gives them an appealing, stripped-down look that was a common characteristic of 1950s Norwegian design.
