The Gloss 118 Chair with Wickerwork was designed by Sebastian Herkner for the brand Thonet.

The German brand Thonet was named after its founder, a cabinet maker known for his invention of bentwood furniture. Today, the company's focus is on classics from the Bauhaus era as well as the creativity of up-and-coming designers. Sebastian Herkner was named Designer of the Year by Maison&Objet in 2019. His outstanding work has won him several awards, including the prestigious Elle Deco International Design Award and the Iconic Award.

The Gloss 118 Chair with Wickerwork is reminiscent of the brand's earlier designs and references its unique heritage. The elegant and pared-down design is also influenced by the Frankfurt chair, an iconic type of ergonomic chair designed in the early 20th century. With its solid beech frame and woven seat, the Gloss 118 Chair with Wickerwork exudes both simplicity and style. The chair's legs are rounded at the back and characterised by bold edges at the front, making them a standout feature.
