S 1200 Secretary ThonetDur®

The S 1200 Secretary ThonetDur® was designed by Randolf Schott for Thonet.

The concept was inspired by the brand's classic Bauhaus-era tubular steel furniture, which was itself influenced by the impressionist art movement. In 2014, the desk was recognised with an iF Interior Innovation Award along with the Forum's Product Design Award. After training as a cabinet maker, Randolf Schott enrolled at the Angewandte Kunst Schneeberg in 2000, to study product design. He then worked in product development at Thonet between 2006 and 2017.

Designed to fit comfortably in the smallest of home offices, the S 1200 Secretary ThonetDur® is a functional bureau which adds elegance to the working day. The minimalist frame has a slanted front along with a footrest which provides additional comfort for users in a seated position. Despite its decidedly modern aesthetic, the clean lines and crisp finish of this compact desk will blend with both traditional and contemporary spaces. The frame is constructed from tubular steel and plated in chrome to provide a high-shine result. The tabletop and footrest are finished in white with a solid wood edge. This S 1200 Secretary ThonetDur® desk measures 110 x 88 x 67 cm when fully extended.
