The Halbstark Shelf-System Basic Elements has been created by Dirk Fromchen for the brand Tojo. The German furniture design and manufacturing brand pursues the ideal of producing pieces that are functional, economical and eco-friendly. The brand is also known for minimalist products that are timeless and elegant. The Halbstark Shelf-System Basic Elements is one such piece. Made of white and coated MDF, it is designed to be configured to suit one's needs and preferences. It goes with another product from the brand, the Tojo Hochstapler. The two shelving systems have an identical design that makes it possible to assemble the two to get multiple configuration options.

The Halbstark comes in three designs: one without a door, one with a door that is hinged on the right and another with a door that is hinged on the left. The different elements can be stacked on one another or placed alongside each other to create different kinds of storage units. The Halbstark Shelf-System Basic Elements has a width of 40cm, a height of 38.3cm and a depth of 32cm. Its compact size make it ideal for adding extra storage in any room in a house. It also works well in compact spaces like studio apartments and dorm rooms.
