Product description

The Coconut Chair Nelson Armchair has been created by George Nelson for the brand Vitra. It gets its name from its shape which mimics that of a coconut shell that has been broken open. It is the designer's take on the original 1955 design.

One of the enhancements on the Coconut Chair Nelson Armchair is the use of eco-friendly production methods and materials. The armchair has a triangular shape with a wide seat and high backrest that is formed by the point opposite the two that are joined to form the seat. The armchair has a shell made of polymer which is pliable, tough and long-lasting. It is generously padded to make the chair comfortable to sit and lean and back on. This is concealed beneath upholstery that has been done with fabric or leather, both of which are of premium quality. The shell is set on a base made of steel. This steel is shaped into a tube and finished with chrome plating which then forms a criss-cross pattern. It has three points with gliders rather than the customary four legs.

The Coconut Chair Nelson Armchair has a width of 101cm, a height of 83.5cm and a depth of 82cm. It has a seat height of 29.5cm. It is available in combined neutral colours.
