HAL Lounge Chair

The HAL Lounge Chair has been created by Jasper Morrison for the brand Vitra. The Danish designer is known for an understated, minimalist aesthetic. Within the simple profiles of his pieces, there is always a master's touch that makes them contemporary and traditional at the same time. A good example of his approach to design is the HAL Lounge Chair which is his take on the high-back armchair. He put his stamp on it with a backrest that has a soft, plump cushion with ball and silicon fibre filling attached at the top. He also re-sized the chair with a well-sized seat that is a unified piece with the backrest. The backrest broadens out to form the seat and it rises upwards to form armrests. The seat has a matching cushion filled with polyurethane foam. The chair is upholstered with premium fabric or leather upholstery that goes over a shell made of fibreglass-reinforced plastic and covered with moulded polyurethane foam. The chair's frame is available in natural or dark oak. All these elements combine to form a supremely comfortable chair that makes for hours of comfortable lounging.
