The Kyoto Rug 240x170cm has been created by AD Miller for the brand Woud. Japan is known for rock or zen gardens that are placed to inspire peaceful, quiet meditation. They typically have rocks that are arranged to form precise patterns along with sand or gravel that is also intentionally raked. It is this arrangement and alignment that inspired the design for the Kyoto Rug 240x170cm.
It has a pattern of lines that run across it and diagonally. The idea is to bring a look and feel of alignment, order and structure to the space where it is laid down. This is further elevated by the colour of the rug which is a mid-tone grey that will work with any existing decor or interior design scheme.
The Kyoto Rug 240x170cm is made of a blend of wool and cotton. The wool forms the bulk of the blend at 80% while cotton forms 20% of it. The carpet is hand tufted. This is a technique that creates a pile or raised fibres that form a carpet that is soft and warm to the touch, or to the step. This carpet has a length of 240cm and a width of 170cm. It comes in grey.
