Philipp Starck designed the vastly famous Toy chair and the just as well-known Toy table. The French designer created the Toy collection in the year 1995 for the Italian label Driade Store, the outdoor line by the traditional Italian company Driade.

The rather memorable chair, or let's say armchair, is a mono block made of durable polypropylene plastic, which features practical details such as the aluminium framed rainwater drain in the seat. Additionally, the Toy garden chair is a stacking chair, up to 14 Toy chairs can be stacked and stowed away in a space-saving fashion. Homely seat covers with integrated seat cushions turn the Toy outdoor chair into an elegant indoor chair, wonderfully suited for a festive round. This makes the chairs of the Toy collection by Driade Store outdoor chairs as well as indoor chairs. To lovers of purism we recommend the simple seat cushions made of felt, which provide the hard Toy garden chairs with warmth and comfort.

Just as weather-proof and robust are the small, square Toy tables that will find space on any balcony, but also cut a fine figure in the kitchen. Several Toy tables placed in a row offer space for a large group of guests in no time, and a steel core inside the Toy tables by Driade Store provides max stability.

The Toy collection by Driade Store offers the Toy garden chair and the Toy table in numerous colours and with matching cushions or covers. The stacking Toy chairs are currently available in a 4-piece promotional Toy set, either with seat cushions or without.

The creator of the Toy collection, Philippe Starck, is distinguished by his straight-forward and slightly angular signature. The shapes of his Toy furniture is said to be based on the US crime comics from the 1940s, which served the designer as source of inspiration.

With the Toy chair the design label Driade Store scored a bestseller, which is on its way to become a true classic. The label especially appeals to younger design fans that appreciate the excellent cost effectiveness of this line by manufacturer Driade.
