Proust Geometrica Mendini Armchair

The Proust Geometrica Mendini Armchair has been created by Alessandro Mendini for the brand Cappellini. It is a revamp of the original 1978 design that was created for an exhibition. It has retained most of the features found in the initial design including the vividly designed upholstery fabric.

The Proust Geometrica Mendini Armchair is handcrafted using beech wood and padded with multi-density polyurethane foam. Even the painting is done by hand. It has a high, wide backrest. On the sides, the backrest curves in so that the back is cradled at the sides when sitting on it. Around the edge, there is an ornate border that is as flamboyant as the upholstery fabric. The seat is also generously well-sized. Armrests on the side enhance the comfort of the chair. The same decorative border on the backrest runs down the front of the armrests and along the lower edge of the seat. The legs that are made of clear, varnished plastic have a similar design.

The Proust Geometrica Mendini Armchair has a width of 105cm, a height of 109cm and a depth of 93cm. It has a seat height of 42cm. It comes in a bright mix of colours that give it a striking, colourful look.
