Sangaku Coffee Table

The Sangaku Coffee Table has been created by Elena Salmistraro for the brand Driade. It is inspired by and named after a Japanese game called Sangaku. The game has mathematical sums engraved on wooden tablets. These have circles and ellipses that are etched into one another.

The Sangaku Coffee Table borrows from this with a table that has four different layers that are intertwined. The points where the tables intersect serve as the legs that support the four tabletops that have rimmed edges. The tabletop at the bottom is a mix of shades and colourful patterns. On top of it is a smaller one with a single colour and then a larger one made of dark glass. The uppermost layer is a smaller one in the same single colour. The overall look of this table is one of the perfectly balanced solid objects and void spaces. The tabletops are made of glass while the frames are made of powder-coated steel.

The Sangaku Coffee Table has a width of 100cm, a height of 41cm and a depth of 82cm. It is available in pastel and neutral-toned monotones at the top with multicoloured lower-level tabletops. This dramatic table will add intrigue to any space with its multiple layers and colours.
