The A222 Coffee Table was designed by Arne Jacobsen for the brand Fritz Hansen.
Jacobsen, who died in 1971, was a hugely influential Danish designer. Creations like the Grand Prix Chair and his Cylinda kitchen utensils won international acclaim, but only represent a tiny fraction of his output. Some of Jacobsen's finest work was carried out for his fellow Danes at Fritz Hansen , which has been creating fine furnishings since the 1870s.
This includes the A222 Coffee Table , an entry in the Table series which was jointly crafted by Jacobsen, Piet Hein, and Bruno Mathsson. In this case, the A222 Coffee Table has a pure circular composition with a single spine and a cross-shaped base. The tabletop measures 75cm across and the table is 47cm high - perfect for combining with armchairs in a social setting. Jacobsen opted to use laminate for the surface, which is easy to clean and attractive, while the look is enhanced by an aluminium edge, contrasting neatly with the white tabletop. Stable and durable, the A222 Coffee Table can be stored easily when not required, and will fit seamlessly into modern interiors, whether they are professional or domestic spaces.
