The Wind Floor Fan was designed by Jasper Startup for the brand Gervasoni.
Startup is a UK-based designer of electronic accessories and other household products, with a particular love of experimenting at the interface of natural materials and advanced engineering, His work ranges extremely widely, from stools to shelves, but his Wind Floor Fan could be the most impressive of all. Designed in conjunction with Italian label Gervasoni, the fan matches up materials in an unprecedented and highly successful manner.
Mixing handwoven elements and high technology, the Wind Floor Fan brings a completely new dimension to climate control. The first thing that stands out is the fan's body, which is made from handwoven pulut fabric. This tough material has been arched over a couple of internal frame sizes, measuring 32 x 32 x 36 cm and 50 x 50 x 60 cm respectively - making both models extremely sturdy and suitable for use indoors and out. The Wind Floor Fanis a powerful 220V model, which can rapidly cool internal spaces when the temperature rises, and which runs extremely quietly. But the real beauty of this fan is the way it blends aesthetics and technology, cooling homes and enhancing their visual appeal.
