The PH 3 1/2 - 3 Glass Suspension Lamp was designed by Paul Henningsen for the brand Louis Poulsen.

Danish born architect author and designer Paul Henningsen was a leading cultural figure in the interwar period and his works are now displayed in many museums. The Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen , founded in 1874, today has an excellent international reputation.

Henningsen focused his attention on lighting to produce iconic designs that have influenced how we light our world, including the PH 3 1/2 - 3 Glass Suspension Lamp . With its stacked, three-shade system this luminaire is designed to reflect light downwards. The shades of the PH 3 1/2 - 3 Glass Suspension Lamp are crafted of hand-blown opal three-layer glass. Each shade is polished to a gloss on the top and sandblasted to a matte finish on the underside. This construction gives a uniform and soft light distribution. Contrasting with the hand-blown, white opal shades is the suspension, which is available in a black metal or high lustre, brass coloured chrome plating. The dimensions of the PH 3 1/2 - 3 Glass Suspension Lamp are 33cm wide, 33cm deep and 28.8cm high.
