Ron Arad's new Do-Lo-Rez sofa unites the worlds of art, design and technology in one. Do-Lo-Rez is a modern sofa, whose unique aesthetics are created by soft, square-based rectangular- or cube-shaped modules of various heights arranged together and fixed to a base by steel pins.
Do-Lo-Rez's units may be rearranged to form a wide variety of shapes and compositions. This seemingly simple product is actually extremely complex in constructional, structural and manufacturing terms.
Ron Arad proposes a contemporary look at design to bring the virtual world into the real world. In fact the heart of Do-Lo-Rez is the pixel; this vital ingredient of the virtual world provided the foundation on which Arad built his design.
