Sybilla is a legendary name in Spanish fashion and design. Starting in 1987, she became a leading clothes designer, showing off her skills from New York to Milan. After taking a mid-career break to pursue other projects, she came back to design at the urging of Nani Marquina, creating a range of designer carpets for the Nanimarquina brand.
This combination isn't accidental. Both Sybilla and the fabric design company are known for their commitment to sustainability and poverty reduction - and Nani Marquina who founded the label makes a point of sourcing all of her fabric from traditional Asian artisans, keeping their techniques alive.
In the case of the Mélange Pattern 1 Kilim / Wool Carpet, Sybilla has used 100% handspun Afghan wool to create a diamond-based pattern.
