This beautiful Tres Wool Felt Carpet 170x240cm was designed by Nani Marquina for the company she founded, nanimarquina.

As the daughter of a famous Spanish designer, Nani always had a deep understanding of her own creativity. Over 30 years after she established a company that would breathe new vitality into textile design, her vision is still going strong, helped by her daughter Maria. A pioneer of sustainable manufacturing, Nani's beautiful designer rugs are ethically sourced and produced, and they help to support a range of initiatives in the developing world.

The Tres Wool Felt Carpet 170x240cm combines traditional weaving techniques from India with brilliantly precise craftsmanship. The different coloured warp and weft create a subtle colour palette in the finished product, while differences in the thickness and fabric - it's a mix of 45% felt, 49% New Zealand wool and 6% cotton, weighing around 2.2kg per square metre - produce subtle natural variations in texture. It's a very tactile effect, added to by the irregular shape and fringing. A beautiful and engaging choice for a contemporary living room or bedroom, there's such an obvious love of traditional craft to it that it works just as well for a more classic setting.
