August Armchair

The August Armchair has been created by Vincent Van Duysen for the brand Serax. The designer believes that furniture should blend into a space rather than clamour for attention. This belief inclines him to design pieces that have a refined, minimalist aesthetic. It is one that is not only elegant but also timeless.

The August Armchair is made of aluminium. It is ideal for outdoor furniture because of properties like its light weight, strength and durability. It has been finished with powder coating which colours it and gives it a protective, weatherproof coating. The chair has a high, wide backrest that has edges that are curved in. The bend causes it to cradle the back which is very comfortable and supportive. The seat is square and as generously sized as the backrest. Its comfort is enhanced by armrests on either side of it. The shell is supported by a frame made of tubular rods that are thick and solid. The legs have gliders underneath.

The August Armchair has a width of 79cm, a height of 59cm and a depth of 60cm. It has an armrest height of 45cm. It comes in neutral and earth-toned colours. The armchair only needs to be wiped with a damp cloth with plain water or a mild detergent. Strong products can remove the colour and protective coating.
