The MB 24 Ashtray has been created by Marianne Brandt for the brand Tecnolumen. Designed in 1924, it was a rare collector's item that could only be viewed in art museums. It became available when the brand acquired the blueprint from one of the museums and got permission to put the ashtray into production.
The MB 24 Ashtray has a choice of brass finished with polishing or nickel plating. Either option gives it a glossy, sophisticated look. It has a hemispherical shape with a round ashtray that goes into it. It has a triangular opening that the ashes go into. Apart from storing them, it also keeps the smell inside. The lid can easily be removed to empty the ashtray and clean it. Its base is as intricate as the rest of it. It is made of curved metallic strips that are curved to fit into the bottom of the ashtray. They are joined to form an X-shaped at the bottom.
The MB 24 Ashtray has a height of 5.8cm and a diameter of 10cm. Sitting on a table or desk, it will not only be functional but it will also elevate the surface it sits on.
