S 5001/C001 Easy Chair

The S 5001/C001 Easy Chair has been created by James Irvine for the brand Thonet. This chair checks off all the boxes including comfort, elegance and timeless style.

In the 1930s, the Thonet brand introduced and popularised the concept of using tubular steel for manufacturing furniture. The S 5001/C001 Easy Chair makes use of this concept in the form of a frame that takes the place of the conventional four legs. Finished with chrome plating, the frame has been fashioned into a sledge-style frame. It extends from the bottom of the chair and goes to the sides where it holds the side cushions in place. The chair has a backrest that is low and two side cushions that are just a bit lower which is the typical look for lounge or easy chairs. The seat is generously sized, running from one end of the frame to the next. The chair is fully upholstered with premium quality Kvadrat Divina Melange fabric. This piece-dyed woollen upholstery textile has the look and feel of felt.

The S 5001/C001 Easy Chair has a width of 126cm, a height of 77cm and a depth of 83cm. Its seat height is 43cm and its armrest height is 68cm. It comes in grey.
