The Series 430 Chair Steel Base has been created by Verner Panton for the brand Verpan. The late Danish designer Panton was at the forefront of the country's mid-century modern furniture movement. He was known for his exuberant originality, superior craftsmanship and inclination to experiment with new forms and production materials. Today, his pieces are considered timeless classics and still sought after. The Series 430 Chair Steel Base he designed in 1967 is one such piece. The goal was to design a dining chair that was as comfortable as a lounge chair. The oval-shaped backrest is curved inwards which makes one want to lean back into its comfort. The circular seat is well padded and upholstered and has elastic webbing around it. The upholstery is made with premium quality fabric from Kvadrat. The curves of the shell contrast the narrow, tubular stainless steel rods that comprise the frame. The legs have gliders.
The Series 430 Chair Steel Base has a width of 54cm, a height of 82cm and a depth of 51.5cm. Its seat height is 47cm. It is available in a selection of colours. Whether it is set around a dining table at home or a restaurant table, this chair adds a look of simple elegance.
