This stylish and functional Akari UF4-L8 Floor Lamp was created by the Japanese-American designer Isamu Noguchi for the Swiss manufacturer Vitra.
Starting off as a single shop near Basel in Switzerland the early 1950s, Vitra quickly grew into a major producer of innovative furniture for homes and offices. In 2004, the label launched its Home Collection of classic pieces designed by luminaries such as Charles and Ray Eames, Alexander Girard, Jasper Morrison and many others. Other notable products over the years include the Vitra living accessories and the Japanese-inspired Akari 'Light Sculptures'.
A sublime example of the Akari collection, the Akari UF4-L8 Floor Lamp takes the form of a tall, slender, faceted body perched on slim, tripod legs. The lamp is crafted from the line's signature Shoji paper fitted on a bamboo frame. The result is a light and airy flowing presence and a warm, diffused illumination that creates a cosy atmosphere. Standing 188cm high, and with a depth of 41cm, the Akari UF4-L8 Floor Lamp makes a beautiful lighting solution, adding style and an exotic ambience to all kinds of interiors - especially those with contemporary decor.
