Product description

The EA 101 Aluminium Chair has been created by Charles & Ray Eames for the brand Vitra. It is made to be used around tables rather than working desks. It is higher, lightweight and slightly more narrow than chairs made for working behind a desk.

The EA 101 Aluminium Chair departs from the norm of a shell. It has a stretch of upholstery over its backrest and seat that goes over an open aluminium frame. Hopsak fabric has been used for this. It is stretched tightly in vertical blocks that provide a firm, supportive surface to sit on and lean back against. It adapts to the form of the individual user which makes it very comfortable. It does not have armrests. The frame is supported by a base that is also made of polished aluminium. A curved bar underneath the seat joins it to the base. The bar is joined to a stout, metallic bar in the middle. The stem branches out into a star-shaped base with four legs. They have gliders underneath that protect the floor to avoid scratches.

The EA 101 Aluminium Chair has a width of 50cm a height of 84.5cm and a depth of 52.2cm. It has a seat height of 42.5cm. It is available in bright and neutral colours.
